John Mulcahy

John Mulcahy is the founder of HealthGenuity.

Prior to this, John was the global head of eHealth and patient care in Merck; providing high quality, patient-centered care services enabled by digital health, data science, and connected medical devices designed to improve outcomes for people living with chronic disease. John joined Merck from S3 Connected Health, where he was the Telehealth General Manager.

John’s teams have developed Telehealth and medical devices for a worldwide client base of medical device vendors, winning three medical design excellence awards.

Passionate about delivering healthcare improvements at scale, John led his teams to deploy value-added Telehealth services into multiple healthcare systems, notably launching Merck’s eHealth solutions into over 40 countries, winning the UK NHS Remote Telemonitoring Northern Ireland (RTNI) managed service Telehealth tender (the world’s first population-wide Telehealth solution). The RTNI service won the UK TSA awards in 2012 for Best Overall Service, and most innovative product or service, Merck’s eHealth solution won the 2017 Pharma Marketing Excellence award for Innovation.

John is a speaker and thought leader in digital health. With more than 10 years of chronic disease management, business model innovation, digital health and connected medical device development experience, and 5 years in Pharma/Lifesciences. Prior to this he worked for multiple companies at the leading edge of the digitization of telecommunications, wireless and consumer electronics.

John has an MBA with distinction from Imperial College, London; and BEng (1st class) in electronics and computer engineering from the University of Limerick.
